Inspire ~ Conscious Thoughts

  • Do you have somewhere local you can shop within your community? Get to know where your food comes from. Chat with your local market growers or butcher.

  • How often do you take the time to really slow down and enjoy your food. Set the table and take a moment to eat with intention, eat slowly and savor each mouthful.

  • Have a weekly plant based dinner party with friends. Everyone can bring their own dish.

  • Have you considered purchasing your own in-home composting bin? Perhaps you could share one with your building.

At its core, seasonal eating means that you’re eating fresh produce at a time of year when it’s naturally ready for harvest. Seasonal eating often goes hand in hand with local eating, since the whole point is to minimise your footprint by not trucking food long distances. Usually this means that the produce is harvested at the correct time, when nutrients are at their peak, as opposed to harvesting early so that the produce will better withstand shipping.
